One week the media and the public lift you up as you bury one of your own, the following week they tear you down as another scathing public inquiry is released. Friends and Family post sentiments proclaiming their pride in what you do but then turn their backs 10 minutes later.
That is not the way I love you, my love does not waiver, it does not falter, it does not fluctuate. I love you every day, more and more every day. Valentine’s day is every day. I’m proud of you when you’re doing paperwork, when you’re on the road, when you’re doing interviews and at all times in between. I’ll defend you with every breath, your name is safe on my lips, at all times, no matter what. I want you to know that I love you exactly the way you are, each and every day, not just when it looks good or when everyone else seems to be getting on board. I’ll be your constant, I’ll be the one you can lean on, count on. Always.
